Have not been posting because I have been a little pre-occupied…but now I’m back:P
Just a quick update, I’ve since discovered that my tolerating that ugly uniform has its perks.
In Singapore, only hard core fans of Chinese romance novels are amused by my name… here, where everybody is familiar with the genre, my name inspires immediate giggling and oo-ing… On the upside, service staffs are usually so entertained by my name they are extra nice to me.
My office building is like across the road from my hotel. Guess they got the memo on my really bad sense of direction :P And after two days of crossing back and forth, I’m proud to say I now cross like a true Beijing-er. That is ‘by faith, not by sight’ :P Nothing stops; not buses, cars, bicycles or people…So if you want to cross the road, just visualize, BELIEVE that you will live, and then walk.
Had to get something from this super a-tas shopping mall yesterday. Took up so much of two sales-persons time that the entire mall closed its main doors before I was done harassing them. So I had to get out of mall through the employees’ entrance with the people that were serving me. Quite fun, the security guard checked to see if I had stolen anything from the mall.
